Hello again! Mobile casino has become a gigantic part of the online gambling experience, to the point where as much as 15-20% of all casino profits (we’re talking about just the profits here, not all bets made) come from mobile apps, according to a 2014 study. Of course, it’s not hard to guess why that is – it’s just more convenient to play slots and roulette from your phone or tablet than it is from your computer or laptop. After all, with a good 3G or even 4G network you can easily play casino games while riding the bus, or when you’re stuck waiting for something at the doctor or post office, or, hell, even when you’re at home and are too lazy to get to the computer. Hey, it’s excusable – your phone is literally right there, it gets unlocked with the push of a button and with the push of another button you’re already in your favourite casino app, ready to play. However, not all apps are equal – some are great, but others are incredibly slow and counter-intuitive and can ruin your portable casino experience. So, how do you tell which is which? Well, there are a few sites that can tell you which are the best mobile casino apps for your smartphone, but I’ve also got a few favourites.
888 Casino
First of all, let’s address the elephant in the room – yes, it’s true, 888 Casino doesn’t have that many games. Its mobile version has about 70 in total, most of which are slots. As far as table games are concerned, you’ve got blackjack and several versions of roulette, as well as access to all live games that the casino offers (roulette, blackjack, casino holdem and baccarat), but really, the vast majority of the games that you can play on your phone or tablet are slots (a good number of which are licensed). Still, that doesn’t really make up for the lack of games. You know what does make up for it, though? Reliability. App-wise, 888 has the best one I’ve ever used. It starts up quickly, navigates smoothly and rarely, if ever, pesters you with promotions and that kind of thing that nobody really wants to see. The icons are big enough to be perfectly viewable and clickable on even a smaller phone, and the app has never, ever crashed or frozen on me (which isn’t something I can say for other apps). If you’re looking for quality over quantity, this is the place for you. It’s also important to note that 888 is one of the very few casinos that supports Windows Phone natively, so if you’re one of the five people who bought that, then cheers!
32Red
32Red(or is it 32 Red? I’m not quite sure, but I’ll just go with 32Red because it looks cooler) is another really stable and interesting online app. It’s got about 80 games in total, which, again, isn’t really that much, but the games (most of which are developed by Microgaming) are quite varied, colorful and pretty, and while most of them aren’t licensed, I’m sure that with a bit of trial and error you’ll be able to find something that you like pretty quickly. It also really helps that you can try out all of the games for absolutely free without even registering (you just access 32Red on your phone and then click Enter Lobby, and voilà), which is a bonus that not a lot of mobile casinos offer. I’m sure that while most of you are interested in playing casino games with real money, you can still appreciate being able to try out the slots and see if there’s anything interesting there without really making a commitment. One of the biggest reasons to join 32Red is precisely monetary, with some of their jackpots being the highest I’ve ever seen in my life (at one point “Mega Moolah” had over £8 million jackpot). Definitely a casino that’s worth a shot!
LeoVegas
Boy, oh boy! I’m going to take a wild guess and say that the people in charge of LeoVegas saw the mobile revolution coming from a mile away, and then prepared accordingly for it! This is, by far, the best mobile app I have ever used in my entire life. It’s absolutely brilliant, you guys. Stable, intuitive, looks and feels great, runs smoothly, and it’s even got a handful of games here and there. How many? Well, how about almost 300! Yes, you heard that right – almost 300 games playable on both Android and iOS, right now! That’s twice as many as 32Red and 888 have combined! Hell, it’s even more than some desktop casinos have! The amount of effort that the people behind LeoVegas have put into making sure that their mobile version can meet and surpass its users’ expectations is absolutely astonishing, and I love it! Every single one of the games that I tested (I obviously couldn’t try out all 300, but I did my best) worked flawlessly, and the app itself loaded quite quickly and effortlessly. Technical issues were brought to an absolute minimum as well – I experienced a single freeze, while testing on Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, but testing on iPhone 6, iPad Air 2, Samsung Galaxy S4 and an Asus tablet went very smoothly, so I can only assume that the issue was with the phone and not the site. If you want the best possible mobile casino experience, then look no further!
